Criminality and the Chicago Police Department: When the Cops are Corrupt

So the Windy City, the City of Big Shoulders, the City of Chicago has over the past five years doled out $155 million to victims of it's Police Department abuses, assaults, indiscretions and out right criminality.

Here is another fact. twenty-one of the twenty-five Commanders of it's Police Department have been replaced.

Then there is Jerry Finnegan, the deviant and corrupt leader of rouge cops in the Chicago Police Department's, Special Operations-SOS Drug Tactical Unit. Who plotted to have four of his compatriots assassinated because they had turned informants. Then he turned informant, when the criminality of the SOS- Special Operations came to light.

Then, Keith Herrera who revealed and exposed the activities of his compatriots in the SOS Unit and now wants criminality to be a cautionary tale to recruits of the Chicago Police.

Chicago's Mayor Daley says thousands of cops go about their duties daily, in a professional and law-abiding manner and the actions of a few shouldn't cast a pall over the city. Granted that thousands of cops pursue their duties professionally and within the law. Still the question is Chicago is Chicago and has been Chicago. It's one thing for it's marginalized and desperate citizenry to violate laws. But it's entirely another for it's Government in the specific form of Police, who having sworn to uphold law, to know law and to behave in a manner that denounces the end justifies the means expedience of policing---violate law.

When twenty-one of twenty-five commanders who are in the leadership. Who are the leadership are replaced, then regardless of the function of the rank and file, the idea and it's practice is policing in Chicago is inherently corrupt.
